“Often when families move from shelter into their new homes, they have very few belongings and even fewer household items. Bake Me Home Bags are a wonderful addition to our welcome home baskets, as families leave the shelter to begin their new lives Baking cookies for the first time in a new place really helps make it a home.”

Families are excited to receive such a treat. I enjoy being able to give the totes to families when kids are present. They are happy and enjoy carrying the tote as their moms shop. Thank you for providing our clients with such a special family opportunity.

YWCA – Eastern Area House of Peace

The tote bag program has had a huge impact on the families we serve. This program allows the families leaving the shelter to have something to make to celebrate their successes of starting a new life in a new home. This program is AMAZING.

YWCA – Eastern Area

We just started the tote bag program today and we gave out several for Mother’s Day. We had one woman who had never been here before and had four children; we gave her a tote bag so she could make cookies with the kids for Mother’s Day and she just burst into tears because she was so happy someone cared enough about them to do that. Mother’s Day was perfect to pass them out!!

“I just wanted to say thank you so much for your thoughtful gift- I have a child that loves to bake and this gift was like Christmas morning.”

THANK YOU My daughter is big into baking. When she looked inside that bag she was like a young child on Christmas morning. She had to examine each piece like she was planning something yummy.

Thank you that meant a lot to us.

Bake Me Back Home

1Lt Greg “NFTCS” Arnheim

Amy, Emma, Mom, and all of the Bake Me Home Volunteers,

My name is Greg and I’m currently deployed with the Air Force’s 492d Fighter Squadron. One of my buddies here reached out to y’all and we recently received several packages of your cookies (I’d say about the 12th of June). They reached us in good condition, but unfortunately I have no photos to attach as they were gone about as soon as we opened them up! I’ll try my best to actually get a good photo if we get anymore from you. They were absolutely delicious, everyone was asking whose grandmother had been nice enough to send us all those homemade cookies! So from everyone here in the 492d ‘Madhatter’ family, I just wanted to extend a huge thanks to you guys. After long days of flying, those cookies helped keep everyone in good spirits by giving us a little taste of home.

You guys rock, and I hope you’re all doing well. Thank you again for doing what you’re doing!!

Thank you both so very much for all you do! The cookies were phenomenal! The cookies were a boost to our morale beyond belief. On behalf of everyone in HSM-72.1 “The Bad Omens” we are eternally grateful:)

“Thank you very much for the most delicious cookies! Our veterans loved them. We love your devotion to our veterans, and through them, our country.”

Major Chris Lewis

Got the cookies!! And they were almost gone in the first 48 hours. I think a few of the folks here substituted the cookies for dinner the first night that I had them.
